As a volunteer in Frihamnstorget, you are part of a team that is based on creative innovation and participatory culture. Leave your trace in our magic shows, festivals, gallery exhibitions, open air cinema and urban farming initiatives. Our cultural program is diverse and full of surprises for you to join!
How do I contribute as a volunteer?
You are going to be part of a newly built volunteering team that will focus mostly on events that take place at Frihamnstorget, our co-created container village. We need help during our public cultural events, so the experience for visitors, artists and staff alike reaches its full capacity.
How often do I need to join the team?
Well, this depends on your own willingness and availability! You can join us once a week, once a month or… everyday, if you really can’t live without us!
When do events take place ?
On weekdays, our events take place during the afternoon and evening. During weekends, they might be either daytime, evening or the whole day. Most of the events happen during the outdoor season, however we want to keep the spark alive during the long winter months and plan for regular indoor events during winter.
Why should I volunteer in Frihmanstorget ?
For the past 3 years, we have been building a unique space in Sweden. We are prototyping a participatory container village where creatives, businesses and organizations thrive in synergy. This is a citizen-driven experiment connecting culture, urban placemaking and community. We want to invite more people in, so our little square lives up to its potential. By joining the volunteer group, you will:
Be part of a community where culture and art is created, supported and celebrated
Get an insight of how the organization actualises initiatives that are based on values such as participatory culture, social and environmental sustainability.
Interact with people from a broad range of fields from filmmakers to entrepreneurs and contractors
Create social bonds with like-minded people and be part of an international team of dreamers and doers

A voucher for free access in two cultural events of your choice every month
(This physical vouchers are transferable, so you can come to an event with a friend)
*Yearly volunteer celebration event with the whole community of Frihamnstorget and Blivande . A beautiful way to celebrate together what we have achieved throughout the whole year, thanks to your support and care
