Building Lab
Frihamnstorget is a co-created space, which means that you are invited to come and build the space together with us 🛠️✨ Building Labs (almost) take place every Friday, from kl 15:00-19:00 in a drop-in fashion 🙂
During the Building Labs we will gather to both plan and execute ongoing projects. It can be painting the pallet crates, building swings or new seating furniture, anything that improves the space.
As part of our project, Reasons to Stay, you are also invited to come up with your very own idea. It could be interactive art or a pinball game anything that gives more reasons to stay a liitle longer at the square!

Open Square
Open square is a lab concept for interdiciplinary jams. A playground.
Music, circus, live painting, video... a constant exploration, evolving, meetings, friends, hang out!
Welcome to an afternoon of jamming together with all types of art forms. There will be some circus equipment, some music and a bunch of nice people. Bring your materials and join us for some free experimentation in each others company.

Picnic Session #1
A giant picnic… in a container village!
We are preparing a super-sized picnic with the goal of bringing more beats and movement to this harbor area (and as a way to make meeting new people easier).
Bring a blanket, some food/drinks, and get ready for some DJ sets! There will also be workshops where you will get the chance to explore the basics of percussion, electronic beat-making, and/or movement. We have limited spots, so if you want to take part in one (or multiple) workshops secure your spot ASAP (additionally to the general ticket)!
Don't feel like workshopping? Just join the picnic fun! Don’t feel like bringing food? We got your back! There will be multiple food options for you to choose from.
Get ready to enjoy the sun (we called the weather goddess and she set it all up for the date!).

The exhibition "origenes mutantes: Cumbias Des-bordadas" invites us to reflect on migration as a natural and transformative journey. Through dance, music, embroidery, and collective experiences, the exhibition explores how this movement shapes our inner landscapes, blending resilience, memory, and growth. It’s a celebration of how nature lives within us, guiding our transitions and connecting us across places, rhythms and stories.

Prata odling och köp härliga egenuppdrivna plantor till din balkong eller täppa. Dessutom kan du delta i workshops och samtal, lära dig mer om grödor, se en konstutställning och få med dig en signerad bok hem.Barnen har en egen workshop där de får så ett frö i en kruka och ta med hem.

Welcome to meet some of Stockholm's urban gardens: Frihamnen Urban Garden, Odla Ihop, Trädgård på Spåret, Enskede Urban Garden, and NDS. Talk gardening and buy wonderful homegrown plants for your balcony or garden. In addition, you can participate in workshops and discussions, learn more about crops, view an art exhibition, and take home a signed book. Children will have their own workshop where they can plant a seed in a pot and take it home.

Performance: She dreamt of being washed away to the coast by Lukas Karvelis
Föreställningen flätar samman baltisk folklore med den universella mänskliga erfarenheten och utforskar spänningen mellan två världar: den materiella, styrd av logik, och den som formas av fantasi och tro. I centrum står en nytolkning av legenden om havsgudinnan Jūratė och fiskaren Kastytis – en kärlek dömd att gå förlorad. Men istället för att stanna vid tragedin skildrar verket en individs inre förvandling, inspirerad av Jūratė. Genom ensamhetens landskap och kroppens fysiska gränser konfronterar hon fantasins oändliga möjligheter. Det är en resa genom rörelse, där en enda punkt gradvis växer sig större. Allt eftersom dansen fortskrider blir dess mönster mer komplexa – dansaren rör sig i cirklar, fångad mellan kroppens inre krafter och rummets ofrånkomliga lagar. Meditativ och flytande som vatten gestaltar koreografin en gudinna fjättrad vid havets botten, ständigt sökande efter balans och en möjlig befrielse.
Lukas Karvelis (född 1997) är en litauisk danskonstnär baserad i Amsterdam.

Inspired by a Lithuanian legend on an impossible love, a dance performance as meditative and fluid as water.
She Dreamt of Being Washed Away to The Coast is a contemporary reimagining of Baltic mythology. The performance weaves Lithuanian folklore into the universal human experience, exploring the tension between two realms: the material world, governed by logic, and the world shaped by imagination and faith. At its core lies a reinterpretation of the Lithuanian legend of Jūratė, the sea goddess, and Kastytis, the fisherman—a love deemed impossible. However, rather than dwelling on the tragedy, the piece delves into the transformation of a lone individual, inspired by Jūratė, who grapples with solitude, the physical constraints of the body, and the boundless fluidity of imagination. It is a transformative journey of movement from a single point to a broader space. As the performance unfolds, the dance becomes increasingly intricate, with the dancer moving in circular patterns, caught between the forces of her own body and the unyielding rules of the space. Meditative, complex, and as fluid as water, the choreography evokes the image of a deity chained at the ocean’s depths, trying to find balance between her axis and liberation.

Circus Residence: Blauwal
Blauwal Company is a circuscompany that deep dive into physical exploration, site-specific creation and teeterboard innovation.
Through their practice, they are continuously exploring an unknown biome of rhythm and comedy based on a foundation of trust, individuality and relentless effort.
During May 2025 they are coming to Frihamnstorget for a residence period with their project “Prolog” to explore sitespecific experimentations amongst the container village.

An engaging evening of mingling, a market showcasing various civic society organizations, and workshops on civic action, all accompanied by music and art. We will also screen six short documentaries highlighting civic actors in Sweden and Austria, illustrating the diverse paths individuals can take towards participation and active citizenship.
