Inspiration. Collaboration. Action.

We warmly invite you to the inaugural NEB Stockholm Fest, an event inspired by the New European Bauhaus Festival in Brussels.

Our goal is to create a yearly meeting point for those who wish to explore and apply the New European Bauhaus principles in Stockholm, as well as forge relationships, learn from other projects, or even kick-start new ones with likeminded institutions.

This first edition will take place at Frihamnstorget, a co-created outdoor container village serving as a platform to Blivande, Frihamnens Kulturförening, businesses and cultural actors working with participatory urban development, sustainability, and cultural innovation.

Sustainable

📢 PART 2: Public Workshops & Exhibition

17:30-19:00 17:30-19:00 Theme: Growing Beauty

Join creative, interdisciplinary workshops on the theme of how to find and grow beauty in urban environments, in sustainable ways.

Three workshops will take on this theme from three different angles.

17:30-19:00 // Workshop 1: Grow your own mycelium art piece!

Learn how to design and grow objects from mushrooms. A natural, sustainable and biodegradable material from hemp and mushroom's root system. It's a beginner workshop to be introduced into the world of microbes and alternative production.

17:30-19:00 // Workshop 2: Build a sandbox for wild bees.

We invite you to join us for an exploration of the porous habitats of the city and how they allow for different non-human inhabitants to coexist with us. We will focus on the sand bed as an environment for soil-dwelling species like solitary bees / wild bees. Through hands-on experimentation we will design and build small sand bed prototypes for these inhabitants together.

18:00-19:00 // Workshop 3: PlaybacktheaterDefining moments - stories from our neighborhoods.

Teater X uses an interactive improv-form called Playback theatre that has its roots in experimental theatre and storytelling. In a Playback performance, that often has a theme, the actors mirror what the audience share with a magical blend of poetry, music and movement. A Playback performance is a “here and now” experience and is always unique since it is improvised and not based on a script.

Beautiful

📢 PART 3: Cultural Program

19:00-20:00 // Culture, Vision & Celebration

To close the festival, we invite you to a final performance that celebrates hope, imagination, and visions of a more beautiful future.

We’ll explore the power of creativity to inspire and uplift — ending the day with wonder, joy, and a shared sense of possibility.

Open to all ages.

19:30-20:00 // Circus show: Entwined

Entwined is an exploration of communication and connection between the two artists- how we are tied together, and where we can get tied up.

The forces we put on each other with our energy
and emotions are enacted physically, as we explore the impacts we can have on each other without realizing. We want the audience to share the playfulness and joy we find in being intertwined, but also reflect on how easily miscommunication can ensnare us.
